SP DX Contest 2012

Thanks for participation in the SP DX Contest 2012.

The SP DX Contest of 2012 was held during the Easter time. This happens every few years and we find it is not too good for the overall contest activity. But the SP DX Contest takes place always during the first full weekend of April, it is the recognized date and we are not going to change it.

Also the propagation was not as good as in 2011. In spite of it we received 1746 logs from 78 DXCC/WAE entities of all continents and it is a nice score. The activity on this level is possible only thanks to great contesters from all over the World. Thanks for it!

Of course the exact number of handled logs in year 2011 was 2037 from 78 different DXCC/WAE entities. The real number of stations active in the contest was greater, as many casual participants do not submit their logs.

The contest website includes many statistical information, all-time records and a searchable data base. Any comments, queries, corrections and questions can be forwarded to the Contest Committee at contest_questions@spdxcontest.info

Thank you for taking part in SP DX Contest 2012 and submitting your log. We give a big hand to the sponsors of contest trophies. In the same time we would like to inform that some stations which won trophies last years informed us that they have never received them. Sorry to hear that but every year all trophies and awards are sent in due time. As it seems to be a real problem it was decided to use registered mail to send trophies to some countries. We do hope we will avoid problems this way...

Finally, please accept our cordial invitation to join us in SP DX Contest 2013. The history of our competition is long, as the first event took place in 1933 so in 2013 we are celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the SP DX Contest. We are going to activate some special event stations and perhaps issue an anniversary award. Details will be published on the contest website.

TROPHIES, PLAQUES, SPECIAL AWARDS

Every year we have special trophies or plaques sponsored for the best scores in a category, best CW score, best score from a continent etc. The awarded "category" is always the decision of a donor. Sponsored "categories" are not the same as contest categories. We have trophies for the best continental scores, best YL score etc. This year the following plaques were donated:
